It was a good idea to buy shares of this gold miner. In September 2009, I wanted to play defensive seeing the beginning of the recession.
My choice was quite good. Barrick Gold stock price went up immediately and stayed up during the crisis. I must remember about Barrick or similar companies whenever I fear a crisis may be on sight.
In September 2009, I bought 40 ABX shares on Xetra Market spending EUR 23.34 each, for a total amount of EUR 933.6 .
Today I sold 30 Barrick Gold share at EUR 32.68 making a EUR 980.4. I got all my money back, made EUR 50 cash. Now I own 10 free Barrick Gold shares. Thanks to my my dear FREE STOCKS STRATEGY !
I reinforced BIDZ throwing some spare change on that looser November 21, 2009Posted by deminvest in BIDZ, growth stock, investment, My investing mistakes, nasdaq, Nasdaq stock.

BIDZ lost 75% Since I bought 100 shares for $ 1008.
I checked on Alexa that the online auctioneer’s website still attracts large number of visitors. So I figured I may average down (which usually is a bad idea!) by buying 90 more BIDS for about $230.
Here is my silly order:
Executed Size: 90
Executed Price: 2.47
Let’s see what happens.
Want to play defense: ABX – Barrick Gold Corporation, largest gold miner in the world, may be a bunker for our money September 18, 2008Posted by deminvest in ABX, Barrick Gold, Defensive Stock, investment, Single stocks, stocks.

A Gold miner can be safe heaven in times of troubles. Barrick was up 10% on September 18, when the entire stock market was collapsing.
Since I fear more of those days, ABX may be the answer.
Even numbers for it are good: P/E = 15, some growth when Gold prices are high ( Qtrly Revenue Growth yoy:19.80%, Qtrly Earnings Growth (yoy):22.50%).
