I started getting interested in this weird Japanese holding when they bought ARM, owners of the cpu technology which in the heart of most smartphones and pads.
Now they also bough Boston Dynamics, a crazy robotics company that likes to ill treat walking robots:

Not sure wether the crazy Masayoshi Son is trying to build a funny collection or he has something in mind.

I am basically trying to  invest in a possibly crazy genius.
P/E di 11.57 is reasonably priced for a possible technology player.
Apparently on the year ending March 2017 softbank had flat revenue growth, but healthy earnings growth.

Good dividends, honest P/E, growth, historical Lazard (LAZ) is my (late) March investment April 7, 2017

Lazard is a World famous, 140 years old financial institution. Those guys have been making money forever.
This is why I am buying them now:

Trailing Annual Dividend Yield 3 3.27%

Reasonably priced and expected to do better:

Trailing P/E 15.57
Forward P/E 1 12.59

Trump will probably stop sanctions to Russia. Europe will follow.
Time to invest in the Eastern Superpower.
My play is on small caps, because anything else in Russia is an oil investment.
Too bad I won’t get dividends on that stuff.

Just bought ECH ISHARES MSCI CHILE CAPPED ETF to invest in Chile and to get good dividends September 21, 2016

Chile is a paradise in South America for free market lovers.
Chile even has a private pension system set to withstand the future and a healthy market economy.

  • Some friends work there and they are nice and smart
  • Cheap enough for a high tech promising growth stock:
    railing P/E 17.69
    Forward P/E 1 14.57

I just placed this order, with a limit well above after hours price and yesterday closing:

Buy 5 BIIB BIOGEN INC Limit $303.00 301.01 302.82 Day

I bought 125 IXYS stock because they may be related to drones May 22, 2015

… and I wasn’t even drunk.

I read a meaningless article: 3 best stock picks for the drone revolution

Didn’t really say much about what percentage of ixys business is in Drones. Probably 5% or even 1%.

I looked at the stock, I liked a couple of numbers and bought.

Forward P/E should say expected growth:

Trailing P/E (ttm, intraday): 23.77
Forward P/E (fye Mar 31, 2016)1: 10.73

Dividends are always nice:

Forward Annual Dividend Yield4: 1.20%

I really deserve losing money on this for the little research I did and for the random buy.

Taking the safer risky bet: I’m buying ALIBABA (BABA) rather than Vips April 30, 2015

I feel a dangerous attraction: I like to buy recent IPOs below the IPO price.

It boosts my ego: ‘Hey, I am smarter then the “HIPE” guys!”

If flattens my laziness: “They had to go through all the uncomfortability of signing an IPO, then had to wait. Blah I do it now and at a better price with a simple click”.

Of course I know all that is wrong. I am likely to chose the companies that have lost momentum. Let’s say I was lucky with Facebook, so I am going for ALIBABA now.

I wanted Vmware (VMW), but ended up getting EMC, its mother company which is cheaper, and gives dividends October 23, 2013

I got EMC because I like its subsidiary Vmware, which is the heart of Cloud computing and has a market cap of $48 B with revenue of $22 B.

Vmware is hugely more expensive (P/E=40), doesn’t pay dividends and has a market cap of $36.00 B with revenue of $5B.

P/E number show a cheap company forecasted to grow quite well

Trailing P/E: 18.70

Forward P/E (fye Dec 31, 2014)1: 11.35

I also bought ETP ENERGY TRANSFER PARTNERS, because they own most the pipelines that will transfer natural gas found by fracking June 11, 2013

Now I buy Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CBI), because I want to invest in Saudi America June 11, 2013

Those fracking technologies are freeing huge amounts of Oil and Natural gas. US is soon going to be a net exporter of that stuff. Huge enrichment has to result of that trend. The question is for whom?

My first answer is for most American companies. Lower energy prices will benefit everybody, beacuse there will be more money to spend in other ways.

Knowing that the US will stop being blackmailed by Middle East makes me think my decision to mostly invest in US companies is correct.

But I am a stock picker once a month, every month. So which company should I buy to take best advantage of this next big thing?

I thought it may be Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK), but things get a big complicated when you are selling a product that is suddenly easily available, because prices tend to go down in your market, specially if you are not able to export part of this product.
